I thought that the trainer Stacey was amazing, she showed such enthusiasm in all of her discussions and was there to help with any interactive activity we were involved in. I loved her passion for MI!
I’ll put what I have learned into practice by ensuring that I am using the various different techniques in calls with clients. For example, using the OARS is a great way to show that I am asking open questions and actively listening to the client, this will in turn create a good rapport. I also think affirming the client is so important – to praise their efforts. I also liked the strategies for handling resistance and how this can be applied to clients.
Motivational Interviewing, Level 1, Inclusion Thurrock
I learnt things that I would not have known prior to the course. I feel more confident to answer tenants queries now than I was before the course. The information provided was very useful.
The trainer was very thorough and made it easy for us to understand.
Universal Credit, HB & Supported Housing, OP Course
I believe that training has encouraged me to reflect on my own style of supervision and has allowed me to formulate an Action Plan regarding areas that I can address to improve the supervision that I provide.
I have been fortunate enough to attend this and previous training with this trainer and his delivery and humanistic approach makes the subject matter more interesting every time. Thank you Stephen.
Supervision Skills, Midland Partnership Foundation NHS Trust
I have been in a seconded management role for a year now and I wish I had been on this course prior. I have found the course really helpful and will use what I have learnt in daily practice. Really enjoyed the course, thank you :)
Moving Into Management, Inclusion
I’ll utilise the skills learnt around de-escalation and be mindful of changing circumstances and what to do around mental health situations. Excellent training, amazing delivery and added a sense of realism into real life situations. One of the best courses I have been on.
Difficult, Disturbing & Dangerous Behaviour: OP Special Event with Dr Iain Bourne
I believe that today I was provided with more knowledge and understanding than I had at the start of the training.
I hope I will be able to remember what I have learned in order to provide better support to not only my clients but to also extend my understanding to anyone I may encounter in my life who has autism.
Supporting People On The Autism Spectrum, OP course
An exceptional trainer dealing with a difficult subject in a respectful and forthright fashion. I learned a lot and really enjoyed the day. Many thanks for a truly informative course.
Working With Gang Culture, Inclusion
I learnt new strategies to use with young people. I had the opportunity to talk to others about a case I was struggling with and had support.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Compass
The whole course was incredibly insightful – it not only provided us with in-depth information and knowledge surrounding alcohol use and its effects, but also the tools and skills needed to work with this specific group of clients. We were provided with loads of great resources and exercises which I plan to use when working with alcohol clients in recovery sessions or initial assessments. Overall, this course has built my confidence in working with this client group, and left me feeling motivated and hopeful.
