Domestic Abuse & Housing Rights

  • Definitions of domestic violence and abuse
  • The range of legal options available to survivors of domestic violence, i.e. the provisions of the Family Law Act 1996, the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004 etc.
  • The process for making an application for a non-molestation order and/or occupation orders and how to complete these forms
  • Domestic abuse/violence and rights of occupation
  • How homelessness law might assist victims of domestic abuse and violence
  • An awareness of the provisions of the Domestic Abuse Bill which is due to become law in the summer 2020
  • Immigration status and those who flee violent relationships
