Government statistics indicate a sharp rise in gang-related offending in the UK.

This course  will develop your understanding of how gangs recruit and are organised, and which interventions are effective in helping young people move away gangs and SYV.

The course will feature live case studies and testimonials from former gang members -  you can ask them direct questions and gain invaluable insight.

The course covers:

  • Key aspects of gangs such as structure, roles and the impact of social media
  • Emerging trends and risks around the evolution of youth violence and gangs, including County Lines drug distribution networks
  • Reasons why young people get involved with gangs.
  • Indications that young people you work with are involved with gang activity
  • The role of young women, including grooming, initiation and sexual exploitation.
  • Interventions that help young people leave gangs: support and resources in your area.
