Hoarding Disorder is still a greatly misunderstood condition, with many organistions struggling to have appropriate and effective responses to it.

The course will cover:

  • Defining compulsive hoarding and to putting it into a wider mental health context
  • Debunking some of the myths and presumptions around hoarding Look at interventions that help and ones that hinder
  • Analysing the experiences of those who hoard through video and case studies
  • Discussing issues raised for staff with the opportunity to explore their own cases
  • Tackling environmental fears such as infestation, welfare and safety
  • The importance of multi agency approaches with those who hoard
