Dr Iain Bourne has been delivering this unique course for many years and is well known and respected in the social care field. His background is in forensic mental health, which he brings to the training experience. Iain has worked very creatively to bring the best of his iconic course into a live, online training event and we are delighted to be partnering with him to bring this exciting course to you.
The aim of this course is to take participants on a fascinating and practical journey through the world of violence and danger. The training unfolds through a series of critical incidents that are narrated and dramatised using video clips, bringing the material to life and allowing the participants to consider in detail the point of crisis and the skills needed to achieve a successful resolution.
It is vivid, even scary in places. We think you will get a lot out of this course!
Participants will learn:
- How to identify different types and levels of violence and aggression
- Skills to respond to those different types of behaviour
- How to manage their own physical and emotional responses when under threat
- Effective ways to work alongside colleagues in a crisis
